Yankee Whale Watching -
Amazing School Packages
Through our association with the Center for Oceanic Research and Education (CORE), our mutual goal is the preservation of marine life and their habitats through education and stewardship. CORE works solely with Yankee Whale Watching. A non-profit organization, CORE conducts research and education programs on endangered humpback and fin whales.
Our Goal & Commitment
To provide students a basic knowledge of marine animals in our North Atlantic region by helping them:
- Understand the use of scientific tools and how research techniques work.
- Learn about the habitat and biology of whales.
- Improve their investigative skills by interviewing our CORE staff as well as completing our pre-visit, on-board and post-visit activities.
- Use the Internet as a research tool and follow-up informational tool.
- Conduct their own independent research projects.
Why Yankee Whale Watching?
We've done our homework! Together with CORE, we have researched the Massachusetts Frameworks Curriculum for grades K - 12 and have identified those strands and standards which we feel our new educational program meets, either in part, or in total.
- We are the only company to work exclusively with the Center for Oceanic Research and Education.
- Yankee offers pre-trip and post-trip packages along with 30-minute pre-boarding program with viewing tank and whale bone exhibits.
- Along with on-board research and education activities, we provide additional environmental information on the marshland, migratory birds and have our own elevated observation deck and telescope for viewing it all.
- We are easily accessible and have ACRES of free parking for motor coaches and patrons.
- Optional in-class presentation by CORE scientist (additional fee applies).
- Every class will receive a free Adoption with class booking.
- Yankee Whale Watching offers more but we don't want you to pay more. We will meet or beat any of our local competitors' prices.
