Deep Water Trips!

Deep water pollock jigging trips are producing some nice Pollock and occasional massive Hake.

It’s jigging season!!

After last weekends storm the regular bait fishing trips have been tough with a lot of dogfish.  Jigging trips continue to be good.

We often mention tide in the fish reports.  That is because the variation in strength and direction of tide can be one of the greatest factors in determining how productive the fishing is.  This week we have had some super strong tides, but we have been able to make them work in our favor.

Marathon Charter 9/16/2022

On our private 12 hour deep water jigging charter there was plenty of action.  The last stop in 468 feet was particularly productive.

We are getting some nice cod and haddock in between releasing dogfish.

Friday we picked away.  The catching might have been better if the tangles had been less.

Very pleasant calm day on the water, bite was a little slow at times with slack tide in the middle of the day. Anglers caught some choice fish when the bite was on.

Haddock fishing will have trends that last from days to weeks.  We had some huge haddock trending Thursday and Friday.  But on Saturday the water was flat calm with no movement and the area where the big ones have been was not producing vey well.  On to the next trend…
