Cod trip was fairly successful this past Sunday to Monday.  Fishing conditions were tougher than we would have liked, but the weather was ideal.  We brought about 500 fish home of an almost even mix of quality cod and haddock.

This Sunday we head out into the Gloucester Harbor to get the best view possible of the beautiful Schooners that will be in town.  Join us for just $25 per adult and $20 per child.  It will be a trip to remember! Our Yankee Freedom has a beautiful upper deck and full galley.  We will leave the dock at 10:00am and return at 1:00pm.

Half day fishing yesterday was filled with small to medium size pollock and plenty of keeper haddock.  Some mackeral and cusk were brought up as well!

Perfect fishing weather today reported by captain Aaron aboard the Yankee Patriot II.  In the morning they were able to drift over aggressive piles of fish including haddock, cusk, redfish and a few pollock.  The afternoon was another calm driftable trip with haddock and small pollock caught.  They also brought up some bait fish like mackerel and whiting and only 2 dogfish!!

Good trip overall yesterday for our 12 hour marathon.  Dogfish were not too bad, tide was strong but fishable.  Average size fish were caught on all of the 5 stops they made throughout the day.  Pollock pictured is 7 lbs.

Great fishing yesterday on both of the half day trips.  They got a quick look at a thresher shark in the afternoon.  Just a handful of cod pulled up and released.

Slow start earlier in the week with hake and small haddock, then in some different areas they found the keeper haddock mixed with cod, hake and whiting.  These trips are perfect for first-timers and kids as well as experienced anglers who do not want to spend all day on the boat.  Our captains are very informative and love to educate all passengers on the fishing here in Gloucester.  Our half day trips only run until Labor Day so make your reservation before it’s too late!

Half day trips have been so fun this week with near perfect weather.  Catching a mis of haddock, cusk, and redfish.  Not many of the half day trips left so make your reservations today!

Thursday the tide was in our favor and wasn’t too strong.  They brought big haddock and cusk on board.  They started out in the same area today but the tide was not cooperating and resulted in tangles and dogfish.  When they moved, over a hundred red fish, and about 2 dozen haddock and pollock were caught.  Upon another move they started slamming the haddock, cusk and pollock.  Whale sightings on the way back to end the day!

Another fantastic overnight fishing trip Sunday night to Cashes Ledge.  Lots of haddock, cusk & pollock were caught along with a monkfish and ANOTHER HALIBUT caught by Rob Atutis!! This halibut weighed in at 86 lbs. They were visited by a beautiful sunfish.  Captain Tom even had to get in on the action!! Join us this weekend to target cod and try your luck at the next halibut!!
