Saturday 5/3 – Full Day on the Clipper
Took out a wonderful private charter group. The morning bite was slow, but when the tide changed to an incoming tide in the afternoon the bite really turned. Fished on the drift all afternoon with some quick resets and had fish all over the boat and the wind waited to pick up until the ride in.
Sunday 5/4 – Full day on the Yankee Clipper
Jeffrey’s Ledge has given us some really good days this season, but a couple days the outgoing tide has shown us a slower bite. Saturday had an outgoing tide for most of our scheduled fishing time and it’s about the time of year to take advantage of other fishing grounds on some trips so we spent some time on Stellwagen.
Mix of experience on the boat with lots of newer anglers. First spot gave us a lot of redfish, some hake, and pluck of haddock (we didn’t see many shorts maybe 1) and second stop was about the same. Third stop was a drift with a slow bite a handful of bigger redfish and some cusk. We made a few more stops on anchor for a lot more redfish with cusk/pollock/haddock mixed in. The weather was great with a little rain at the end of day, some anglers had 4-5 haddock most people finished the day with a bit of a mixed bag.
Thanks to all our customers that spent part of their weekend with us.
