First trips of 2026!
Trips for us started last week, similar to other reports from the Gulf of Maine haddock have been off to a slow start this spring.
Our first trip was very slow, we mixed some redfish/cusk in on following trips, and explored in all directions with the Yankee Pearl.
Haddock are showing up in smaller numbers and we were getting some haddock on the Yankee Clipper today during the incoming tide.
We will continue to fish in areas that have shown us an increasing presence of haddock and areas that have produced a good spring bite in past seasons.
The Yankee Pearl will continue to check on other areas that we anticipate to see a good bite.
The boats have been worked on during the off season and are looking good. The Yankee Star is wrapping up a few final upgrades after shipyard work and will be fishing next month. Thanks to all customers for sailing with us and we’re looking forward to a good season.
