    EVENING CRUISES

    Cruises from Scenic Cape Ann

Getting out on the water always draws a crowd, and the sheltered waters and scenic vistas of the Annisquam River or the historic landmarks of Gloucester Harbor make a great setting for any type of event. When it’s hot and steamy on land what could be better than a cool relaxing sunset or evening cruise out of Gloucester.

Gloucester has some of the most beautiful landmarks in Massachusetts that can also be seen by boat! Gloucester is America’s oldest seaport along with it’s surrounding waters.

Cruises may decide to head around the Cape, which entails a cruise around Cape Ann in its entirety past the historic Twin Lights, scenic Rockport, Eastern Point and other local landmarks.

The Gold Coast would include cruising Gloucester Harbor past Stage Fort Park, site of Gloucester’s first settlement by Magnolia, rich in 19th to mid 20th century history.

We also have the option of sailing to Manchester-By-The-Sea and choose your route among the Islands past Beverly, toward Marblehead, Salem and/or back to Gloucester.

Yankee Fleet can also help with suggesting caterers and music for your trip. We also offer a bar and bartender on board serving beer, wine and mixed drinks.

We can adapt to your requirements!

You can combine whale watching, deep-sea fishing, scenic cruises and more. We will work with you on any custom charter. Call 855-5GO-FISH

    WHALE WATCHING CHARTERS

Cape Ann is known as the top spot for New England whale watching. Many people ask why? Cape Ann is a peninsula that sets out further than many of the inner ports along the coast. This gives us an advantage to not only one but two well known whale watching feeding grounds, Stellwagen Bank and Geoffrey’s Ledge. These bodies of water are located 15-20 miles North of Cape Ann and 15-20 miles South of Cape Ann. Giving us options to sail to either depending on where the whale sighting reports have been better.

These rich feeding grounds give way to an echo system that comes to life during the Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. Whales common to this area are humpbacks, fin whales and minkes. These animals migrate during the early spring making there way to us. They come to feed. They begin their migration back to the Caribbean during the late fall and winter.

Trips run approximately 4 hours in duration.  Yankee Fleet has fishing boats that leave as early as 5am and we are able to get reports from those boats as to where the whales are.

If you’ve never done a whale-watching trip or even if you have it’s different every time you go and that’s the excitement of it. For more information on our whale watching charters please contact us at 800-WHALING (942-5464).
